~ 2011 Carnival Events! ~

This year’s events are approaching rapidly and places are filling up! There are limited places for events such as the youth football where the under 11’s group is full, the under 10’s group has one space left and the other groups are also filling up very quickly! To find out more visit the Youth Football page.  Do not forget to buy your ducks for the Duck Race either as they are rapidly swimming away! The first event of is the Darts night, followed by a new event on the calendar this year, the Crib night!
We hope to see you at the events, and do not forget, the  Carnival Parade day is on the 25th June.

~ The 2011 Carnival Court! ~

On Friday 29th April, our selection process for our new Carnival court took place..

We had a great turnout, with many entries in each category, making it a great evening on what was a very historical day.

The candidates performed superbly and really made it difficult for the judges to score.
We would like to thank all those who took part, without you the evening would not have been the same. However, as always, there has to be a top quartet to take on the role of being Biggleswade Carnival court. We would like to congratulate the following for their success and wish them the best of luck throughout the year.

Carnival Queen – Penny Chamberlain
Senior Princess –Sophie Stukins
Carnival Princess –Mica Rachel Hayden
Carnival Princess – Mathew Simmons

In terms of the Carnival season, the theme this year for parade day is TV Adverts and Programmes Past & Present. As usual there are also many events being held this year! These include the Duck Race, Youth Football Tournament, Bingo, Kids Disco and the Quiz Night!

~ Will you be Crowned on the Royal Wedding day? ~

It is nearly that time again, when we go in search of our new carnival court. However this time, it will be an even bigger occasion, with the chance for four people to be crowned on the same day as our future king marries his bride.

It really is not that far away! The selection evening of our new court takes place on Friday 29th April 2011 and applications must be received by no later than Wednesday 27th April 2011.

We welcome you and hope that you take this opportunity to become part of the Biggleswade Carnival Court and enjoy the year with us as well as winning some prizes too. To enter either fill in an entry form which can be found in the Biggleswade Chronicle or print off and fill the application form here.

~ Another Carnival Year is upon us! ~

Another year is here, and preparations for another carnival year are already well underway.  We were able to support many charities and local services again last year.
We aim to have another super year of fun and fund raising for all those good causes out there!
So all we ask if that you get involved! We see many of you at the parade day each year, how about come along to some of the events like the duck race, football tournament, take your kids to the disco and generally have fun and help us, with our cause to help charities.

Furthermore, soon we will be selecting our new court for the year! This will be on the 29th April. Yes! You could become Queen on the Royal Wedding Day!

Why not take part, and play a vital role in the carnival this year!

~ Carnival Rock & Roll ~

Hello again, yet again another event has sadly had to be cancelled. The Rock & Roll which was due to be held on the 25th June, has had to be cancelled due to a poor turn out. We hate to cancelled these events, which usually are so successful, but it simply is not feasible to do so with such a poor turn out. We hope to see your support at our other events, remember, it is all for a good cause!

The next event is the Pool Knock-out which is this evening, followed by the Duck Race this Sunday.

~ Youth Football Entries ~

Hello again, Hope you are all enjoying the warm weather lately! It is not long now till the first of the Carnival Events, the Darts Night on the 14th June! However this update is specifically aimed at all those wishing to enter our Youth Football Tournament on the 3rd July at Stratton Upper School. There are still plenty of available spaces for teams to enter, however the deadline for these entries is Saturday 12th June! If you wish to enter then please obtain an entry from the Youth Football page via the events page.

The event is always a huge success, in fact such a success that it is recognised and endorsed by the FA who list it as one of the events they recommend. We hope to hear from you soon!

~ A New Court Selection Is Almost Upon Us! ~

Hello! So yet again another year has rapidly come round! Last year was extremely successful and we like to thank the whole community that took part in the fund raising last year.

However, a new year is upon us, and it is getting ever closer to the court select evening where we will be selecting our new Carnival Court. It promises to be a great night, and we invite you to come and take part or cheer on the candidates.
